Let’s heal together
Healing your relationship with food, body image and disordered eating is a process. I specialize in working with female athletes, student athletes and gym goers who are challenged with fueling their body due to a disordered relationships with food. In my programs, I work closely with each individual to create a personalized healing experience. Together, we work on your specific concerns with certain foods, fears and anxieties around eating and body shape to help build your confidence outside of your body shape and size. Here are some thing we may work on together:
Meal Planning: Building you a meal plan to help with structured eating patterns, restore hunger and fullness cues, and promote health habits.
Mindset around food: Together we will discuss your mindset, thoughts and relationship with food. Here is where we educate and work on small behavior changes to challenge the disordered beliefs.
Education: We will review specific nutrition topics and themes that pertain to your specific areas of need, sport and/or activity level.
Adding variety: Together we will start discussing trying new foods, foods on your “unsafe” list, and build a varied, balanced diet.
Fueling your training: Getting enough energy to fuel and support recovery is essential for your success. We will work towards a training and nutrition schedule that will be optimal for your level of training.
Student Athlete and Teen Female Clients
For teenage and female student athlete, I specialize in helping them navigate the challenging years of high school or college while recovering from a strained relationship with food and body image. Specific concerns include navigating social eating situations, building a healthy support network, recognizing triggers and situations that increase disordered thoughts or behaviors. Availability for contact with client, therapists, trainers, parents, medical providers and coaches available outside weekly sessions.
For teenage clients, I work together closely with the teen and parents to ensure comprehensive treatment to the teen. This full support network will allow for the best outcomes in treatment. I take my clients progress seriously and am available to discuss with parents and teen outside session hours as needed and available.
About the Program
Programs start with a 6 month commitment. This includes intake and assessment, weekly check ins with client, meal planning, tracking and monitoring, education, discussions with parent and other professionals as needed. Progress and treatment take time as we make changes and start to unlearn old thinking patterns and beliefs. A collaborative approach is noted as the best treatment method, and therefore therapy and medical monitoring may be recommended.
